Bribie Island is an idyllic location not far from the Northern suburbs offering a range of shooting options. Pristine beaches are in abundance, as are mangroves, forests and parks.
On this particular day, we were headed for the beach, but the wind had other plans. We stayed inland slightly where we were sheltered form the worst of the wind and enjoyed some racing games with the kids while mum and dad took a bit of a stroll.
Once the kids had warmed up to the camera, it was time for a couple more structured shots. We started to work our way towards the beach, stopping at interesting spots to shoot a few portraits as we went. We came across a little cliff on the beach which the children of course had to take turns jumping off. Much fun was had while we played in the sand and burned off some energy! Often letting kids lead your shoot can result in stunning images – it’s why I love working with children – no two shoots are ever the same!
Once we got to the beach, we let the wind blow in our faces and our hair and captured the energy and spontaneity of the afternoon.
